BIOGRAPHY

 

ROMAN SEJKOT was born on October 30, 1963. He studied at the FACULTY of MATHEMATICS and PHYSICS of CHARLES  UNIVERSITY in PRAGUE. At the same time he studied at the FACULTY of JOURNALISM of CHARLES UNIVERSITY and at the FAMU.

 

ROMAN SEJKOT is professional photographer, worked as photographer for a photographic agency,  picture editor in a publishing house,  picture editor and photographer in a weekly and in a daily newspaper. In 1991 he went for a short-term practise stay at the JOKER German agency. He has been a free-lance photographer since 1992.

 

ROMAN SEJKOT in 1990 published a large book with photographs on the POPE‘S VISIT TO CZECHOSLOVAKIA. He placed 3rd in the WORLD PRESS PHOTO 1994 competition with his photographic documentary story about a mentally handicapped swimmer, entitled „ABOUT SPORTSMAN“ which, in the form of a photographic animated film, was awarded the IG MEDIA prize at the 37th International Documentary and Animated Films Festival in Germany in 1994. At the 26th international meeting of photographers in ARLES in southern France, for his nudes, Sejkot also won the KODAK  EUROPEAN PANORAMA 1995.

 

ROMAN SEJKOT lectured on photography at the FACULTY of SOCIAL SCIENCES of CHARLES UNIVERSITY, at the TOMAS BATA UNIVERSITY and at the CZECH TECHNICAL UNIVERSITY.

 

ROMAN SEJKOT makes the images in a virtual reality known as CG Art or CGI.   

ROMAN SEJKOT since 2010, creates 3D photographs with a 3D camera.

 

ROMAN SEJKOT is a member of the PRAGUE HOUSE OF PHOTOGRAPHY and S.V.U. MANES. His name appears in the PHOTOGRAPHERS ENCYCLOPAEDIA INTERNATIONAL, 1839 TO THE PRESENT.
